Frequently Asked Questions

Will checking my rate affect my credit score?

No. The calculator is based on your property details only and doesn't require any personal financial information, so there's no credit check involved at all.

How accurate are the rates shown?

The rates shown are live and updated in real time from lenders we work with. The figures are based on the information you provide, so the more accurate your answers, the more relevant your results will be.

Will I be contacted after checking my rate?

Only if you choose to be. The calculator doesn't require you to provide any contact details — you can check your rates completely anonymously. If you'd like us to get in touch to discuss your options, you'll have the opportunity to share your details at the end.

Why should I use a broker instead of going direct to a lender?

A broker searches the whole market on your behalf, including deals not available directly to the public. This often means access to better rates and a smoother application process.

How do I get an Agreement in Principle?

Once you've checked your live rates, the next step is an Agreement in Principle (AIP). This is a conditional indication from a lender of how much they'd be willing to lend you, and is often required before making an offer on a property. Simply get in touch with us after using the calculator and we'll guide you through the process. Unlike the rate calculator, an AIP does require a credit check and some personal and financial information, which we'll collect securely when you speak with us.
