Why we're sleeping out in November
We're the event sponsor for this year's Big Chorley Sleepout, and the team will
be spending the night outside at Victory Park on Friday 13 November.
The organisers are clear that one cold night doesn't teach anyone what
homelessness is like, and we're not going to pretend otherwise. What it does do
is raise money for three organisations working in Chorley all year round - and
raise it before people reach crisis point, which is the part that tends to get
overlooked.
The event is aiming for £15,000 across 100 sleepers. Everyone taking part is
asked to raise around £150.
Three local organisations
Between them, the money helps people find and hold on to stable housing, puts
emergency food and essentials in front of families who need them, creates
opportunities for local children and young people, and reaches people who are
isolated before things get worse.

to the three organisations, not to us.
If you'd rather do it properly and sleep out yourself, registration is £5 and
open now. Businesses can enter a team and fundraise together.
